Chaplaincy Services & Pastoral Care

The Jewish Pavilion has access to the services of Rabbi E. Arnold Siegel, the community rabbi who serves the unaffiliated in Central Florida. Rabbi Siegel’s role is twofold. He helps bring celebration into the lives of the residents served by The Jewish Pavilion, and he is a spiritual presence for people in need, in pain, or in transition. He will perform funerals for unaffiliated residents if the family requests it.

Celebrating with the Rabbi: Rabbi Siegel attends and participates in Jewish Pavilion holiday programs, especially the festival days which are most sacred. A rabbi’s presence brings a special flavor to the occasion like no one else can do, and the residents love having their “own” rabbi.

Individual Pastoral Visits: A resident may request a one-on-one appointment with the rabbi. Rabbi Arnold Siegel may also be contacted directly by the resident or arrangements can be made through the Jewish Pavilion staff member who oversees the resident’s facility.

Expansion: Leadership of The Jewish Pavilion recognizes the importance of professionally trained chaplains and para-chaplains to respond to personal issues or situations that arise in the long-term care setting. Pastoral caregivers are an important link to coping with this phase of one’s life. An immediate goal of leadership is to expand this program to meet the needs of all residents served by The Jewish Pavilion.
