Judaic Programing

All programming offers something Jewish. If it’s not Shabbat or a holiday, Jewishly-themed non-holiday programs can be presented. Perhaps it’s no more than reading a book by a Jewish author, serving up some kugel, or presenting a musical program with a Jewish song or two. The goal is to maintain the residents’ connection with the Jewish community they left behind when they entered long-term care.

Methods of Programming Presentation: Because not every resident is physically or mentally able to gather in a group setting, programming is sometimes accomplished at one’s bedside. During holiday visits, a cart on wheels can be decorated to represent the holiday and various goodies can be handed out in each room.

We welcome new volunteer involvement in all of our programs. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@jewishpavilion.org or our Program Director, Cathy Swerdlow at programs@jewishpavilion.org for more information on how you can participate.
